VE Viewer API's for ABAP integration?

Hi,

I am completely new to SAP VE and my customer wants to evaluate if it's possible to write an own application (ABAP or maybe Portal) to communicate with VE Viewer the following way:

 

1) An area to the left with a tree structure displaying products/BOM's. When the user clicks somewhere in the tree, the VE Viewer should open up in an area to the right, displaying the chosen product.

2) The user clicks on a part of the model in VE=>signal back to the calling application which  part/sublevel product that was clicked by the user => the tree structure to the left could be further opened, highlighting the part of the product/BOM that was clicked.

 

Is such a communication with the VE Viewer possible to develop? Is there any documentation/list of available API's etc to be found? Any help most appreciated!

Rendering a Procedure to Video (3gp)

In VEA v7.0 I was able to render my procedures to 3gp video file format.

 

I have now tried to do the same thing using VEA 7.1 and am unable to do so.  The dialogue boxes open as expected, I click OK and the rendering timebar appears briefly but no file is created.  There are no error messages.

 

I suspect it is a computer set up problem with VEA unable to find the Video Codex.

Is collapsing geometry a good thing to do? Makes the file about 25% larger!

I am creating a file that is a large piece of industrial equipment. It has access panels that are bolted on the unit, To make it easier for the end user to manually pull those panels off the unit, I collapse those parts into a single piece of geometry.

 

This is how I made the file. Drawn in Inventor. Imported into 3DS MAX 2014. Output to 3DS file. Imported into VE. Resulting file is:

 

2.9 Megs

318 Objects

150,000 Verts

144,879 faces

 

When I start collapsing parts to make if a simpler file for the end user, this is what I get:

 

3.8 megs

20 objects

153,148 verts

147,131 faces

 

That's 25% increase in file size!

 

I would have thought the file size would have decreased, Is collapsing a good thing to do? Is there another way to accomplish this?

I have a problem with a Deep Exploration Licence

Hi all

 

We have two licences of Deep Exploration.

 

One is working fine, but the other is not working at the moment.

 

We think my predecessor moved the licence to another machine but didn’t restore it to the original PC.

 

I was given an email address to contact SAP for technical support, but it is not recognised any more.

 

Could you advise me on how to move the licence back to the original machine, or how I can contact SAP technical support?

Hi,

 

I need to develop proof of concept on how to use the Visual Enterprise Viewer using or data. Our drawing data is on Bentley .DGN format which is not supported by SAP VEV. I see the possibility to convert it is by using SAP VEA and we are not licensed for that software.

 

Is there any trial download for this SAP Visual Enterprise Author?

Can any body send the step by step process for SAP-CAD integration. I have done CAD configuration in "CDESKCUS" in erp client. But i couldn't able to load the CAD files. I have done doc.types, object part assignment in DMS. Please send the step by step process for SAP-PLM implementation.

SAP Visual enterprise iOS DVL library linker error

Hello

 

I have found a problem in iOS DVL library. There are no symbols for i386 architecture for cVDSWriteContext::AddID

 

Undefined symbols for architecture i386:

  "cVDSWriteContext::AddID(cVDSID const&)", referenced from:

      cVDSDataTypeWriter_Animation::WriteCustomData(unsigned char*, cVDSWriteContext&) in libDVL.a(VDSAnimationWrite.o)

      cVDSDataTypeWriter_Mesh::WriteCustomData(unsigned char*, cVDSWriteContext&) in libDVL.a(VDSMeshWrite.o)

      cVDSDataTypeWriter_Reference::Write(cVDSBuffer&, cVDSWriteContext&) in libDVL.a(VDSReferenceWrite.o)

ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture i386

clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)

 

You could reproduce problem in "Gesture" project from examples of SAP 3D Visual Enterprise application SDK 1.1

You just should add flag "-all_load" in other linker flags of project properties and try to compile for simulator (see attached screenshot).

 

For other architectures project linked without the error.

 

We  should use this flag in our project and now we can't to test application in simulators, only on devices.


Does anybody know how I could inform developers about the problem?

Help! Still cannot activate Deep Exploration?

Second post on this subject

 

We have two licenses for Deep Exploration 6.5. After a PC was changed we are trying to restart the licence.

 

Under (Deep Exploration 6.5 x64 Activation) (Fixed License) (Internet Activation)

 

When I press (Activation) i get:

(Cannot connect to specified URL (http://www.righthemisphere.com) This could be due to an internal firewall, internet connectivity problem, or the web server may be experiencing a similar temporary network problem)

 

Can I ask, is the web address the correct address? Has anyone had this problem?

Hi,

I have installed the SAP VEG with the version 7.1.0.6062, but now I am facing a error when configure the VEG, the error message is "could not change SAP Visual Enterprise Generator service account : This access control list is not in canonical form and therefore cannot be modified."

    CIDEON Conversion Engine could convert AutoCAD DWG to PDF with stamp ,  could Visual Enterprise Generator also convert DWG to PDF with stamp?

SAP Visual Enterprise viewer integration into WebDynpro

Hello All,

 

i'm facing Internet explorer Crash issue when i try to launch Visual enterprise viewer WebDynpro application to view 3D(.JT) files. I tried with IE compatibility option with no luck.

 

Standard WebDynpro application name : DMS_WDA_VIEWER.

package : CV_CNV

Visual Enterprise Viewer Version installed in system : 7.1

IE version : 8

VDS format suport in VE Access

Hello,

 

I have been told that the VDS format is currently not supported in VE Access. As VDS is increasingly helpful for larger asemblies, I would like to know if any future plans to accomodate the same in VE access?

We currently have 4 licenses for Corel Technical Suite X5 and purchased the CCE upgrade for Deep Exploration 6. Is there any way to get these upgraded to Visual Enterprise Author 7? If so, can we upgrade to the 64 bit version?

Visual Enterprise Author plug-in

Hi this is a Urgent issue, the customer is waiting so please help me here.

I can't save to the file format  *Vds (for use in Iphone and Android phones)

The version is 7.0.2.65 SAP Visual Enterprise Author CAD edition 64bit. The plugin is loaded regarding the Plugin manager but it don't show up in the save or save as menu.

 

How do I solve this problem, is there a service patch or file to download?

D3DXAssembleShader Error

Hi Everyone.

I am the technical leader of Right Connect Korea. Our Customer are using VE Author 7.0.3.69.

However. It has some problems to change materials. When he try to change material of objects, It doesn't work well.

 

Error is the below messages.

 

Shader failed : Vertext Shader

ERROR_MOD_NOT_FOUND : D3DXAssembleShader

 

He can't install the latest patch(7.0.5.75) to his machine. It also has some problems.

If you have any advice, please let me know.

Deep Exploration CAD edition user status?

I've been a deep exploration CAD edition user since version 3.x and my company has bought me the permanent license with some support contract.  Last year during the transition between RH to SAP, I tried several times to try to make sure that my support contract would be renewed, but between regional sales people never calling me back and emails being ignored, I never got any satisfaction and eventually gave up.  I'm now in a pickle, as my machine was refreshed, and I need the install files corresponding to the latest version of the tool that I was able to get.  Since our network is pretty well secured, I can't just use the updater to get the right files.  Is there a way to get what I need or am I sunk?

Hi,

 

I have recently downloaded VisualEnterpriseAuthor_7.0.2.65x64 for an update from 7.0.0.54. Is this the most up to date version? If no, can you direct me to the most up to date version to download and where I can find it for future reference?

 

I purchased a Perpetual License on 12/20/2011 of last year along with the Annual Maintenance Package. I can verify any information if needed.
